During the summer of 2007, Froylan worked with the community to build a 9 meter by 12 meter tree nursery in the secondary school. The community formed a reforestation committee consisting of six women and came up with a joint plan to manage the tree nursery together with the teachers and students in the secondary school. Froylan also gave this budding reforestation project a boost by providing around 3,500 fruit and timber tree seedlings to the community and holding over 60 small-group based workshops on water, reforestation, and community health.
Froylan plans to return to Tecpaco to continue this work over January of 2008.
